When one thinks about the flag of their country it is always with the feeling of great honor. The Jamaica flag means a lot to the people of the nation as it makes them proud to be associated with rich history and symbolism. The colors black, green and gold might appear simple or catchy to some people, but each has a profound meaning.

The Jamaican Flag was raised for the first time on the sixth of August 1962 when the country got its Independence. The crossway with four triangles that is depicted on this national symbol is in gold, the top and bottom triangles are in green and on the sides, the left and the right triangles are in black.

The black color speaks of the creativity and strength of the people and this is truly reflected in the rich culture which depicts the mixture of races with the blacks being the dominant figure. Jamaica’s race diversity has brought richness to their dance, music, food, language and most of all the life style.

This diversity makes the culture of this nation appealing to a lot of people around the world. Over the years, the people have been getting recognition for their unique performances in different sectors of life as they take creativity and resilient to a higher level.

Nowadays, if you are traveling around the globe the Jamaica flag can be seen almost everywhere. It is said that there is a Jamaican living in most of the countries in the world and this might be the reason for the strong presence of this symbol.
However, there are others who simple love everything about this little island and will give support to the sports and entertainment events and will raise the flag just like the locals.

But, the rich heritage and culture is for all intents and purposes what separates this country from the rest of the world. The unique characteristics of the people undoubtedly show the world that they are the greatest in everything and all the sacrifices that were made by the ancestors was truly worth it.

Nothing makes the Jamaicans more proud than to see the rich heritage being kept in honor, even more so to the ones who have worked to excel among the best worldwide. They too can be called “heroes” as they are continuously pushing for the people and the country to become who and what it is today.

Last but not least, The Jamaica flag has brought so much joy to the people of this island and this sentiment is even extended to the surrounding Caribbean neighbors. In fact, almost everywhere that you go, there is the utmost respect for the things that was done over the years to help build this country as a great nation.
